Karen
Since 1992 Karen Valencic has blended her experiences in martial arts, science and psychology to bring high impact, memorable presentations to a wide variety of audiences. She is known for the work she does in conflict resolution, team development and leadership skills.
Karen’s educational background is in Engineering. She earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Tri-State University. She was then employed by Delco Remy, Division of GM. Her positions during her tenure there include Project Manager in Product Development and Manufacturing Plant Resident Engineer.
In 1990, Karen began her study of aikido, the Japanese art of reconciliation. She earned shodan black belt in 2005; she studies and teaches at the Indianapolis Aikikai. In 2000, Karen authored the course and guidebook, Using Conflict Creatively. In 2004, Karen created a new training methodology, Spiral Impact® – The Power to Get It Done with Grace. The book Spiral Impact was published in 2007.
Karen is a Past-President of the Central Indiana Chapter of the American Society of Training and Development. She served on the board for six years. This gave Karen the opportunity to stay current with the trends in the training/performance improvement industry. She is an Adjunct Professor at Butler University.
While Karen has done a lot of things in her life, her proudest accomplishment is raising two lovely daughters, Kylie and Taylor.
